A Successful Drill Depends on Neighbors Like You
The greater the number of participants, the more accurate a picture emergency response and planning agencies can get about:

Community Zoom Meeting ~ March 20th, 7PM

On Wednesday March 20th at 7 p.m. the Marin County Fire Dept. will hold a community meeting on Zoom to discuss and answer questions about the upcoming evacuation drill focused upon two zones (northern Lagunitas and Forest Knolls). On hand will be officers from MCFD, representatives from the Office of Emergency Management for Marin County, and the Valley Emergency Readiness Group (VERG). Join the discussion!

April 1st Drill – What to Expect

On April 1st, officials from Marin County will announce the simulated evacuation due to a wildfire scenario via AlertMarin to San Geronimo Valley residents within the designated drill zones E066 and E114. Resident participants will take action from this prompt by gathering their household “GoBag” and travelling to the parking lot of the old golf course clubhouse (now MCFD Administrative Headquarters) at 5800 Sir Francis Drake Blvd.

At the parking lot, participants can check in at reception tables where refreshments will be served, GoBags can be checked for helpful hints, and a brief survey will be presented to identify improvements for evacuation planning. Fire and Emergency Management officials will also provide a debriefing for participants.

Safety is a key priority for this exercise so we urge everyone participating to treat this as a “slow motion” evacuation drill. Drive cautiously from your home to the designated evacuation at 5800 SFD Blvd.
